Is hemp legal?

The 2018 Farm Bill changed federal policy regarding hemp, including removing hemp from the Controlled Substances Act and considering hemp an agricultural product. The bill legalized hemp under certain restrictions and defined hemp as the plant species Cannabis Sativa L. with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentration of no more than 0.3 percent dry weight.

What is the difference between THC and CBD?

The biggest difference between hemp and marijuana is their chemical structure and their effect on the body. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the active compound in medical marijuana, it has psychoactive effects on the body and brain such as euphoria and relaxation. On the other hand, CBD is the active compound of hemp and does not have any psychoactive effects, which means that it does not interact directly with receptors in the brain that can temporarily disable you, such as THC. CBD works by relieving pain, reducing inflammation, among others. It should be emphasized that both compounds have a very significant therapeutic value despite their different psychoactive effects.
